Day 22: Almost finished shopping!!!!

This is me.
Will I cross the finish line
in victorious splendor, or will
I collapse in humiliating defeat?

All I can say is, THERE IS ONLY ONE PERSON LEFT ON MY GIFT LIST! It's that sluggish and slothful older son of mine. He has given me one little idea of what he would like for Christmas but has been spending most of his time working and preparing to move back to Virginia from Illinois. Lazy boy. He may be driving a U-Haul full of young-guy furniture and lava lamps right this moment across the fruited plain, but that doesn't give him an excuse to not give me a detailed wish list complete with shopping links when I want it. I don't ask much.

Person number 17 (out of 18) for whom I shopped today is getting an assortment of gift cards. Did you know that Kroger has an impressive selection of gift cards? Did you know that you get double fuel points when you buy gift cards at Kroger?  There was a little kick-back for us with this purchase. :)

I spent one hour on my handmade gift today, and three deliveries from UPS were left on the doorstep. Sweet.

Planning ahead for the 21st through the 31st of August, I think my focus will surely be completing the handmade gift, wrapping a few more things, assembling more piano student baggies, and FINDING HIDING PLACES WHICH I WON'T FORGET ABOUT for all of the gifts. The cupboards are full, so I'm thinking of scoping out the situation under the beds.

TALLY:
Friends & Family (17 out of 18): CHECK!
10 Neighbors: CHECK!
45 Piano Students: CHECK!
Charitable Giving: 4.5 out of 6: CHECK!
Stockings: CHECK!
70 Christmas Cards: ORDERED!
Handmade Gift: 1 hour today. 10 hours spent so far.

  1. I was thinking how the rest of us will all be running around, stressed out in December and you will be calm and content, sipping your hot chocolate. And then I had this evil thought:
Since you have done so well for yourself and accomplished so much, you will now be able to help all the rest of us (who have done nothing) in December. Yes?!
